People In Need assists people in applying for Columbia Gas Customer Assistance Program (CAP) and the $ Energy Fund. Applicants must meet income guidelines to qualify for these programs.

The CAP program benefits low-income customers who have payment problems with their Columbia Gas bill. Many are not able to pay what the utility is offering as a budget payment due to high arrearages or high energy usage. The Cap program offers an affordable payment plan while helping the customer conserve energy. The program is designed to encourage responsibility and evolvement.

The $ Energy Fund provides assistance to those experiencing difficulties affording adequate and safe utility supplies in order to maintain basic standards of living. This program works in conjunction with the state run Energy Assistance Program.

Both programs have an income guide line that must be followed.
