Mental Health Counseling

People in Need is an agency that provides a unique spectrum of mental health services to children, adults, and families. We provide specialized programs and highly trained professionals. Our mission is to help people face challenges, one step at a time, throughout Lawrence County and surrounding counties.

People in Need accepts most commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and self-pay clients. We accept cash, checks, and credit / debit cards. People in Need uses a sliding fee scale based on income to determine the self pay fee. Call our New Castle Office for an appointment: (724) 657-3303. 24 Hour Crisis Line: (724) 652-9000. National Suicide Hotline: 988

Individual, Child, Adult and Family Therapy

Therapy sessions are designed to treat a variety of behavioral health issues, including but are not limited to: depression, anger, grief, stress, anxiety, trauma, PTSD (military and other), obsessive behavior (OCD), abuse, divorce adjustment, marital and family reunification, counseling, and employee programs.

Psychiatric Evaluation

Children and adults receive a thorough assessment by a Psychiatrist to determine diagnosis, prognosis and recommended course of treatment. Evaluation for IBHS Wraparound Services for children (ADHD and Autism) may be scheduled.

Medication Management

Brief visits with a psychiatrist will evaluate the effectiveness of client medication or need for change. Clients must meet with therapists to work on long term goals.

Seeking Help

We know that making the decision to seek counseling may be difficult. In consideration of this, our staff and clinicians are dedicated to maintaining an open, non-judgmental environment where all clients feel unconditionally accepted.
